Norms for cinemas & multiplexes in Unlock 5.0 | PVR Pictures CEO Kamal Gianchandani to ET Now

Unlock 5.0 begins from 15th October and under the new guidelines, cinemas will be functional on 50% capacity. Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR Pictures talks about the positive news.

He states that the company has been in touch with several State governments who concur with the Central government on reopening cinemas. Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have, however, decided to hold back this decision till 31st October. But Kamal Gianchandani hopes that by the first week of November, cinemas will be operational all across the nation. He goes on to say that the 50% seating capacity comes as a breather since producers find it more economically viable to release films that are going to gain traction. He also talks about the growing traffic in malls and roads as a good indication of people being ready to visit cinemas and assures of the safety protocols taken by the company. Finally, he says that they are ready with good content for their viewers such as James Bond and Sooryavanshi.
