Jio unleashes new tariff war; Is the telecom war intensifying; Who is at risk? | Explained

Reliance Jio has come out with its latest offerings with its Jio postpaid plans, the plan includes stellar offers. Jio has come out with attractive plans, these plans are priced lower than Airtel and Vodafone Idea. Jio postpaid plans start at as low as Rs. 399 and they have added additional attractive offers which include free subscriptions of Netflix and Disney Hotsar that come along with the plan. The prepaid customers can likely shift to Jio postpaid as well as new customers can also be attracted by Bharti Airtel as well as Vodafone Idea. Jio's move is to improve its ARPU. Postpaid customers usually have a higher ARPU as compared to prepaid customers. Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea are at risk considering how cost-effective Jio can be.
