HDFC Bank posted a decent set of numbers in Q2FY21. NII came in at Rs 15776 Cr vs Rs 15665 Cr QoQ & Rs 13515 YoY. PAT came in at Rs 7513 Cr vs 6659 Cr QoQ & 6345 Cr YoY. PAT was aided by the sale of investments and other income which came in at Rs 6092 Cr vs Rs 4075 Cr. PPP came in at Rs 13814 Cr vs Rs 12830 QoQ & Rs 11699 YoY.
GNPA came in at Rs 11305 Cr vs Rs 13773 Cr QoQ, in % terms, GNPA came in at 1.08% vs 1.36% QoQ. NNPA came in at Rs 1756 Cr vs Rs 3280 Cr, on % terms NNPA came in at 0.17% vs 0.33%. Provisions for the quarter stood at Rs 3704 Cr vs Rs 3892 Cr QoQ. Margins were stable with NIM at 4.1%. The Proforma NPA statement includes accounts which would be NPA after Aug 31. That takes GNPA higher to about 1.37% vs 1.36% QOQ and NNPA to 0.35% vs 0.33%.
A 2300 Cr provision was taken against the proforma NPA.
