Morningstar just changed their rating on Amazon to a BUY (from a hold) and a price target of $4200. They see no cracks in their long term growth story. They see Amazon being well positioned to continue to prosper from the continued secular shift to e-commerce and the Public Cloud of which Amazon is the clear leader. Also highlighted their growth in advertising as a unique value opportunity. Morningstar is the gold standard of ratings. Totally unbiased. Vamos Amazon! 😎

Nasdaq Futures are currently up .26 percent. If Amazon would gain back what it lost Friday we could see it be up a lot.

Let the flippers get out. AMZN is the number one e-commerce globally. Can any e-commerce player match AMZN's one-day delivery? All the talk about competition is to get you to sell your shares. Stock splits in the next couple of quarters and AMZN hitting $5000 per share

Just a fact: Amazon's AWS segment is responsible for more than 50% of the operating income (although at the moment it is just 13% of the revenue). And it is growing much faster than Amazon's other segments and is not going to slow down. New amazon president led the the highly successive AWS segment before the appointment. That's the amazon's future.

All the Long term investors just relax, Amazon is only going to get back to where it was then move back to $4,000. This was a buying opportunity for new investors, or those who bought in around $4,000 to average down. Amazon will only grow and maybe someday offer a dividend or split the stock and add even more investors.

Amazon stock should be a gold mine. Anything you want to buy is on Amazon. No traveling to stores, no fighting traffic, no waiting in lines. Perfect modern way to shop especially with the way the country is going with crime, demonstrations and attitudes. Plus what you buy is delivered to your home. Amazon should be the number 1 stock for everyone to own. People will continue buying on Amazon Corona virus or not. It is the modern way to shop.

Curious that Mark Mahaney, one of the most vocal analysts on the street on Amazon, recently calling it one of his top picks, has gone totally silent with no response at all to the most recent earnings??

I normally don't listen to analysts but many reiterated their buy ratings on AMZN today. There's also this from Brent Thill of Jefferies, in Brian Sozzi's article "4 Reasons Why Amazon Stock is Getting Nailed"....

"Amazon is planning to continue investing aggressively in logistics despite expanding capacity by 50% in 2020. The headwind to operating income from startup inefficiencies at newer facilities is being exacerbated by a tight labor market and pull forward of Prime benefits like video in new markets. As these temporary cost headwinds abate, we see operating income margin and free cash flow better reflecting the benefit of faster growth in AWS/advertising. We think Amazon is also adding capacity in order to eventually launch broader same-day delivery offerings, which should help support core-Retail in light of increased mobility and extend the competitive moat," said Jefferies analyst Brent Thill in a research note to clients.

Thill reiterated his buy rating and $4,200 price target on Amazon shares.

complete over reaction. Net sales grew 27% over last year.
Their most important highest margin business' accelerated: AWS accelerated both from last quarter and Year over year to 37% to $14.8 billion -- the biggest year-over-year sales jump in two years. The company’s β€œother” revenue category, primarily advertising sales, grew 87% to $7.92 billion. Most people expected the ecommerce portion (lowest margin) to moderate as they are comping extreme growth rates of when everyone was locked down. The most important piece revealed on the call is that they expect the growth rates and strength of both AWS and advertising to continue.

Also two more points to consider:
    1) amazon always guides conservative
    2) new ceo is likely sandbagging, setting expectations low. To under promise over deliver.

Now with expectations re-set, this is an easy set up into the end of the year.

Beat earnings but missed revenue by less than 2%. Seen this a few times with google. Weak short term but it should come back and set new highs.

I find it very suspicious that SNOW turned into an Amazon bull and then the stock crashed the next day.

I think if the stock were less expensive could've rebounded better stock price is too high for most people to buy, company may want to consider splitting the share price to attract more buyers.
