According to the automobile major, the first set of Tigor EVs were delivered as part of the state-run company's initiative to procure 10,000 electric vehicles.

    Tata Motors to hike prices of passenger vehicles

    New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS) Tata Motors on Monday said it will increase prices of its entire passenger vehicle range by up to Rs 25,000, starting from January, due to rising input costs. "The changing market conditions, rising input costs and various external economic factors have compelled us to consider the price increase," said Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors. The statement said the introductory prices of the recently launched lifestyle compact SUV, NEXON, which comes with Level NEX design, performance and technology features, will be ending by December 31.

    Mumbai, Dec 6 (IANS) Automobile major Tata Motors on Wednesday rolled out the first batch of the compact sedan Tigor's electric variant from its Sanand facility in Gujarat. According to the company, Tigor EVs (electric vehicles) are being manufactured for the Union government's order of electric vehicles from the Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), an entity under the Ministry of Power.

    Mumbai, Dec 5 (IANS) To push sales during the year-end period, automobile major Tata Motors on Monday said that it has launched a 'Mega Offer Max Celebration' sales offer. According to the company, the offer provides opportunity to customers "to drive home a Tata car at a down payment of INR 1 and enjoy savings of upto 1 lakh, depending on the model and variant". "Tata Motors has tied up with leading financiers and banks to offer up to 100 per cent funding through attractive finance schemes on the passenger vehicles," the company said in a statement.

    Tata Motors' second-quarter profits boosted by rise in Jaguar Land Rover sales

    MUMBAI/BENGALURU (Reuters) - India's Tata Motors reported a sharp rise in second-quarter profits on Thursday, helped by higher sales of its Jaguar and Land Rover cars, but warned of challenges ahead for its flagship British subsidiary. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), which has been driving Tata Motors' profits for several years, expects sales in the UK and United States to soften because of competition but is confident of growth in China, JLR CEO Ralf Speth told reporters in Mumbai. JLR plans to launch several new products next year including the Jaguar XF Sportbrake sport-utility vehicle (SUV), the E-Pace, a compact SUV, and the I-Pace, its first electric sports car, Speth said after the company announced a three-fold rise in profit.

    Tata Motors logs 5% growth in October

    Mumbai, Nov 1 (IANS) Automobile major Tata Motors Ltd on Wednesday said it closed October with a five per cent sales growth. In a regulatory filing in the BSE the company said it sold 48,886 units of commercial and passenger vehicles in October, logging five per cent growth over the sales volume logged during the corresponding month in 2016. Tata Motors' overall commercial vehicles sales in October, in the domestic market were at 32,411 units, higher by seven per cent over its 2016 figure for the same month.

    Mumbai, Oct 1 (IANS) Automobile manufacturer Tata Motors on Sunday reported an exponential rise in its domestic sales for September on the back of growing festive demand and introduction of new products. According to the company, its September domestic passenger and commercial vehicle sales rose by 25 per cent to 53,965 units. "Tata Motors overall commercial vehicles sales in September 2017 were at 36,679 numbers -- higher by 29 per cent over September 2016," the company said in a statement.

    New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) on Friday said that it will procure 10,000 electric vehicles from automobile major Tata Motors. According to EESL, Tata Motors was selected through an international competitive bidding aimed at increased participation. "Tata Motors won the tender and will now supply the electric vehicles (EVs) in two phases - first 500 e-cars will be supplied to EESL in November 2017 and the rest 9,500 EVs will be delivered in the second phase," the company under the administration of central government's Ministry of Power said in a statement.

    Tata Motors CEO says to invest $625 million to boost sales

    Tata Motors will invest more than 40 billion rupees ($625 million) to boost sales of its passenger and commercial vehicles, its chief executive said on Monday, as the Indian automaker looks to return to profit in its domestic business. The company has committed to invest 25 billion rupees in its car unit and will pump more than 15 billion rupees into its trucks and bus business this year and annually over coming years, CEO Guenter Butschek told reporters in Mumbai. Tata Motors, maker of the loss-making Nano small car, will focus on reducing costs, launching new products and ramping up production volumes over the next six to nine months as part of its turnaround plan, Butschek said.
