A chief minister’s salary is fixed by respective state assemblies. The central government or the parliament does not have any authority to make decisions in this regard.
The salaries of chief ministers are generally appraised every 10 years. In order to hike salary of a CM, approval from the respective state governor in charge is required.
Just like the salaries paid to MLA‘s in India, a CM’s salary also includes components such as basic salary, dearness allowance, and house rent allowance. Apart from this they also receive daily allowance and other special allowances.
