India Ikea

Rugs are displayed inside the Ikea store in Hitech City on the outskirts of Hyderabad, India, on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018. Ikea’s blue-and-yellow stores are instantly recognizable: iconic, monolithic and now, as India’s first store throws open its doors to the masses today, operating in more than 400 stores in some 50 countries. India got its first Ikea store in Hyderabad on August 9. The Hyderabad store, located in the heart of HITEC City area close to posh localities, is as big as 10 football grounds.

Ikea, the Swedish furniture giant, offers everything your home needs – bedroom to dining room to kitchen to washroom.

On the first day of its launch, the store had a footfall of more than 40,000 customers, who lined up to check out the world-famous chain, creating a stampede-like situation. For its India business, Ikea has revamped itself, combining its global style with local tastes.
