The Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), which opened on 25 September, reportedly cost a whopping $63 billion to construct.
It’s called the ‘starfish’, having been designed to resemble one by the architecture team of Zaha Hadid.
The terminal building covers a massive 700,000 sq meters and can currently handle 45 million passengers a year, with the possibility of handling 100 million passengers a year after expansion. The terminal has solar panels throughout the airport.
