Yamaha MT-15 to launch today: Here is the expected price and other important details you need to know
India Yamaha Motor will launch the MT-15 today. We are expecting that the company will price the all new naked bike somewhere around Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Yamaha MT-15 will rival KTM 125 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
Yamaha MT-15 has been spied testing on a number of occasions in India before and it certainly sports an aggressive design. Since the naked bike is based on YZF R15 V3.0, it will feature the same engine that powers the latter -- a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 155 cc engine with high compression ratio producing 19.3 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. Yamaha MT-15 is expected to get a six-speed gearbox along with a slipper clutch.
In January 2019, India Yamaha Motor had launched dual channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) enabled YZF R15 Version 3.0 and claimed that it was the first 150 cc model with such a safety feature. Yamaha MT-15 will feature disc brakes both up front and at the rear and expectations are that the company might provide dual channel ABS with it.
Yamaha MT-15 will get a telescopic suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. There will be LED headlights as well. The bike will have a length of 2,020 mm and width of 800 mm. Its height will be 1,070 mm and wheelbase 1,335 mm. The Gross Vehicle Weight will be 288 kgs.
While the Yamaha R15 V3.0 ABS starts at an introductory price of Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), a starting price of Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) would not be too much for a bike of Yamaha MT-15's quality.
