Xiaomi Mi 9T launched: Key specs, features, price, and everything you should know
Xiaomi launched the Mi 9T for the European market on Wednesday. To get it right of the bat the Mi 9T is a rebranded version of the Redmi K20 that went official in China and is coming to India very soon. A couple of days ago, Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Jain confirmed that the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro will launch in the country by mid-July. The India launch date of the Redmi K20 series is yet to be revealed by the company. The Redmi K20 is India will be the same as Mi 9T just with different branding.
Similar to the Redmi K20 series the Xiaomi Mi 9T comes with a unique gradient design and funky colours. Both the front and back panel of the Mi 9T is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 which was also the case with the Redmi Note 7 series of phones including Redmi Note 7S, Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. The key highlights of the Mi 9T are pop-up selfie camera, powerful processor, triple cameras on the back, AMOLED display and a big battery. The Mi 9T is almost the Redmi K20 in terms of both design and specifications, with some slight changes here and there. Besides the premium design and flagship-level features, another good bit about the Mi 9T is its price. Xiaomi Mi 9T specs
Display: The Mi 9T comes packed with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and offers screen-to-body ratio to of 91.9 per cent.
Processor: The Mi 9T is powered by Snapdragon 730 - the chipset that also powers the Redmi K20.
Storage: Two variants - 64GB and 128GB.
Rear camera: On the rear panel the Mi 9T includes three cameras - primary 48MP, secondary 8MP and third is a 13MP sensor.
Front camera: On the front the phone comes with pop-up selfie camera that includes a 20MP sensor, yet again similar to the Redmi K20.
Battery: Like the Redmi Note 7 series and Redmi K20 series, the Mi 9T comes with a massive 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Software: The Mi 9T runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
Xiaomi Mi 9T features
--The design is one of the best bits about the Xiaomi Mi 9T. The design of the Mi 9T is the same as the Redmi K20. With the Redmi K20 or the Mi 9T Xiaomi has tried something for the design. The phone includes gradient finish with patters at the corners of the device.
--The Mi 9T comes with a pop-up selfie camera on the top of the phone. The Redmi K20 also comes with pop-up camera. This is the first phone from Mi branding that comes with pop-up mechanism camera. The camera pops out when the selfie camera mode is turned on.
--Triple camera setup is another highlight of the Mi 9T. The Xiaomi phone includes 48MP Sony IMX582 primary sensor with f/1.75 lens. To recollect, the Redmi K20 uses 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor for its primary camera. Besides that the phone also comes with telephoto and ultra-wide angle lens.

The Xiaomi Mi 9T comes in two RAM and storage variants. The base model of the phone includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. As noted, this model of the phone comes for a price tag of 329 euro that roughly translates to Rs 25,800. The second version of the Mi 9T comes packed with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. This model of the phone comes for 369 euro that translates to Rs 29,999 approx.
Xiaomi Mi 9T as Redmi K20 coming to India
As noted, Xiaomi India has confirmed the coming of Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. The company has confirmed that the phones will hit the Indian stores in some weeks from now. We believe the same China variant of the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will launch in India and almost at the same price. In India, we believe the Redmi K20 will compete with the upcoming Realme X that is said to launch in the country in the second half of the year. Meanwhile the Redmi K20 Pro will be the flagship killer and Xiaomi says the phone will compete with flagship level phones like OnePlus 7 Pro.
