Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has enjoyed an eventful day five of the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton. Mohammed Shami’s disciplined bowling might not have given him rewards on day three, but it surely did on Tuesday. Meanwhile, before lunch on day five, the Bengal seamer wrapped himself in a towel.

After Mohammed Shami’s rewarding 18th over, he went back to the boundary to field. In the meantime, he wrapped himself in a towel to protect himself from cold. It was indeed an amusing incident for the viewers, who Shami had entertained with some fantastic swing bowling throughout the morning session. The right-arm seamer currently has figures of 18-8-31-2. Mohammed Shami was the first to strike on day five as he removed the experienced Ross Taylor, thanks to Shubman Gill’s stunning take at short cover.

The 30-year old went on to remove BJ Watling by rearranging his stumps in his 18th over. Before Watling, Ishant Sharma dismissed Henry Nicholls for a single-figure score. New Zealand are currently trailing by 82 runs more, with only five wickets in hand. But their captain Kane Williamson has looked nearly immovable. With a pinch hitter in Colin de Grandhomme, the Kiwis will hope to wipe the lead out and snatch back the momentum.
