Twitter Trolls CSK As They Trade In Robin Uthappa Ahead Of IPL 2021

Twitter reacted after Chennai Super Kings traded in 35-year old Robin Uthappa from Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2021 IPL season. CSK has been called the “Dad’s Army” because of the number of players above 30 present in their squad. CSK were likely to make a lot of changes for the upcoming IPL season after an ordinary 2020 season.

Chennai released Kedar Jadhav, Murali Vijay, etc and retained Sam Curran and Ruturaj Gaikwad. With this retention, CSK made it clear about their intention of investing in youth. However, the CSK fans have been confused after they traded in Robin Uthappa among other players.

In the previous season for Rajasthan, the right-handed batsman played 12 games, he scored 196 runs at an underwhelming average of 16.33. The 35-year-old cricketer was also given his preferred position at the top of the order but couldn’t capitalise on the opportunity. RR had no second thoughts before releasing the veteran.

The hardcore CSK fans were questioning and trolling the management for taking Robin Uthappa on board for the upcoming season, while others were simply enjoying the trolling for going for the aged players instead of the youth.
