Twitter Explodes As Burnley Disappoints Liverpool At Anfield

Liverpool hosted Burnley last night for the Premier League fixture at Anfield. The hosts didn’t lose a single match at the venue since 2017 and the visitors couldn’t manage to win a game at Anfield since 1974. The match was predicted to go in Liverpool’s favour but Burnley had some other plans. Burnley broke Liverpool’s 68-game unbeaten streak at home with this 1-0 victory. The home team has been surrounded by injuries throughout the first half of the season which created a few issues for Liverpool. A draw was at least anticipated for the injury-prone home team in their game last night.

The records and dominance didn’t matter for Burnley as Ashley Burns netted the ball in the 83rd minute of the match to ensure a historic win for his team. After this iconic victory at Anfield, Burnley finds themselves at the 16th spot with 19 points while Liverpool are at the fourth position with 34 points. The defending champions couldn’t score a goal in their past four fixtures, this hasn’t happened in 21 years. Liverpool has only garnered three points in their last five league matches. Twitter erupts as Burnley upsets Liverpool on their turf, let’s have a look at the best tweets:
