Sony launches new Extra Bass party Bluetooth speakers in India, promise up to 24 hours of battery life
Sony has been revamping its portable speaker range for 2019 in India. We recently reviewed the more affordable SRS-XB12 Bluetooth speaker that catered to those users who want to carry a speaker on the move and use it for mini parties. Expanding that lineup, Sony has now introduced two additional portable speakers in the Extra Bass category and from the looks of it, these are built for house parties.
Sony has introduced two models in the portable Extra Bass speaker lineup. The first one is called the SRS-XB22 and is priced at Rs 7,490. As with all current extra Bass portable speakers, the SRS-XB22 is rated at IP67 waterproof as well as dustproof. Carrying over a familiar design from previous models, the SRS-XB22 has party lights that can be activated while playing music. Users can also use the Fiestable app and Sony Music Center app to select favourite playlists, cue the next song, change lighting patterns and sound modes.
The SRS-XB22 also comes with support for built-in voice assistants for both Android and iOS devices, which mean one can access either Google Assistant or Siri via the speaker. Sony promises a maximum battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge. The speaker has massive passive radiators to enhance the bass effect.
Along with the SRS-XB22, Sony has also launched the SRS-XB32 which is priced at Rs 10,990. This is basically a bigger version of the SRS-XB22 and has some additional features. The XB32 has multi-colour line LED lights that can be customised with unique patterns with the proprietary apps. This one also has two strobe lights to add to the party effect. Apart from the lighting and the size, the XB32 promises a longer battery life of up to 24 hours in a single charge.
Both the SRS-XB22 and SRS-XB32 will be available from June 15. The SRS-XB22 is available in four colours - Black, Blue, Red and Green. The bigger SRS-XB32 only comes in three colours - Black, Blue and Red.
