Samsung Galaxy S10 rumour roundup: Design, specs, India launch details and more

Ahead of the Galaxy S10 launch on February 20, here's a quick look at everything we know about the Galaxy S10, S10e and S10+ models, from design to their launch in India.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 launch is happening on February 20 at Samsung's Unpacked event in San Francisco. We know that the company will be announcing three phones in this lineup, which includes the Galaxy S10, S10e and S10+. In fact, there is very little that is a mystery about these phones as numerous leaks, reports, renders and live images have given us pretty much everything we need to know about these phones.

The Galaxy S10 series is set to bring a new design language, one that sees a hole in the display to house one or more selfie cameras. The S10 phones are also getting more cameras than their predecessors, and they will also come with some interesting new features such as reverse wireless charging and in-display fingerprint sensor. Basically, the Galaxy S10 is everything you can expect to see from flagships in 2019. From the design to hardware, pricing and India launch details, here's everything we know about the Galaxy S10 series.

Samsung Galaxy S10 expected price in India and release date

Following its global launch on February 20, the Galaxy S10 will be coming to India. This has been confirmed by Flipkart thanks to a dedicated page that has now been set up, offering the option for customers to get notified for the launch. This confirms that the Galaxy S10 will be available on Flipkart at a later date.

Based on a report last week, Samsung may announce the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e in India on March 6 and the phones may go on sale starting March 15. Samsung is yet to make any of this official, so it is best to take this report with a pinch of salt.

As for the pricing, past reports have claimed that the Galaxy S10e will start at around Rs 50,000 in India. The phone is expected to compete against the iPhone XR and is rumoured to come in only one variant. The regular Galaxy S10 is tipped to come with a starting price of Rs 65,000, while the Galaxy S10+ may start at Rs 75,000 in the country. Samsung may also bring its top-end 12GB RAM variant of the Galaxy S10+ with 1TB of internal storage. This variant could cross the Rs 1 lakh mark.

Samsung Galaxy S10 design and specs

The Galaxy S10 falls in the middle in the lineup and is said to come with a 6.1-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The display will get a small circular hole on the top right corner to house a selfie camera. The S10 will come with a curved display much like its predecessor, but the bezels have been chopped down further. The S10 will also come with a curved rear glass panel in black, white and green colours.

One of the more noticeable upgrades will be to the cameras on the back. The Galaxy S10 is set to come with triple rear cameras like the Galaxy A7 (2018). Renders have shown a horizontal camera system with LED flash and heart rate monitor. The Galaxy S10 will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and support for reverse wireless charging.

The Galaxy S10 will run on the newest Exynos 9820 or Snapdragon 855 chipset depending on the market where it launches. India will get the Exynos version of the Galaxy S10. The model will come in two variants: 6GB/ 128GB and 8GB/ 512GB.

Samsung Galaxy S10+ design and specs

The Galaxy S10+ is the biggest phone in the lineup, offering a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The S10+ will also get a hole in the display, one that is wider and pill-shaped to house dual selfie cameras. Apart from this, the phone will look similar to the regular S10. Like the regular S10, the S10+ will also come with a triple camera system and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy S10+ will also come with a Exynos 9820 or Snapdragon 855 chipset and Android Pie-based One UI on top. The phone will also tout a large 4,100mAh battery, which is slightly bigger than the battery inside the Galaxy Note 9. Apart from the black, white and green colours, the S10+ is also tipped to come in a Ceramic Black colour, which is likely for to the top-most variant with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy S10e design and specs

The Galaxy S10e is being called the iPhone XR of the Galaxy S10 lineup. This is because the S10e is the cheapest model in the lineup and will miss out on a few features such as an in-display fingerprint sensor and triple cameras. Instead, the S10e will see the fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, and will offer a dual camera system on the back. The S10e will still offer a glass back panel with support for wireless charging, as far as we know.

Another big difference is with the display. The Galaxy S10e will get a flat Infinity-O AMOLED display and a smaller screen size of 5.8 inches. It will sport a similar selfie camera cutout as the regular S10, but the display will not curve around the sides and the bezels are seemingly thicker compared to the S10 and S10+.

The Galaxy S10e will also get a unique Canary Yellow colour option to make the phone stand out. This is similar to what Apple did with the XR by offering the phone in a variety of colours that cannot be found on the XS and XS Max. The S10e will also get a smaller battery at 3,100mAh capacity and it may not support reverse wireless charging.
