Samsung Galaxy Fold will not be manufactured in India, company confirms

On Monday, a report revealed that Samsung Galaxy Fold manufacturing has already begun in India. Soon after the report went viral, Samsung reached out to India Today Tech and confirmed that it's a hoax and Galaxy Fold will not be manufactured in the country.

Samsung's foldable smartphone aka Galaxy Fold is coming to India very soon. At least that is what rumours suggest. According to a new report coming from leakster Ishan Agarwal and MySmartPrice Samsung has already begun the manufacturing process of the Galaxy Fold in India. The global launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold is expected to happen before the end of this month, July. The India launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold may follow the global launch. It is worth noting that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer is yet to officially announce the India launch details of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Update: Samsung India has confirmed to India Today Tech that Galaxy Fold will not be manufactured in India and the reports making rounds are hoax.

Samsung was among the first manufacturers to launch a foldable phone. The Samsung Galaxy Fold was announced back at Mobile World Congress 2019 back in the month of February. The foldable was expected to go on sale around April in some markets but that sadly didn't happen. The reason for the delay in the sale of Galaxy Fold was due to not so good reviews the device got from the reviewers. The reviewers complained about the display cracking issue. Soon after Samsung recalled all Galaxy Fold phones to fix the problem.

Samsung is yet to confirm the launch date or timeline of the Galaxy Fold but a top executive of the company recently confirmed that the problems with the display have been resolved and the Galaxy Fold is "ready to hit the market." Some media reports suggest that the global launch of the Galaxy Fold is due in July. Possibly at the end of July. Now that news of Samsung Galaxy Fold India manufacturing news is coming we believe the foldable phone is heading to the country very soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold main display measures 7.3-inches and uses Dynamic AMOLED panel and offers 1536 x 2152 pixels resolution. The second screen on the cover of the phone measures 4.6-inches and for this screen Samsung uses a Super AMOLED panel and offers with 720 x 1680 pixels resolution and aspect ratio of 21:9. On the hardware front the Samsung Galaxy Fold phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
