Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has announced its June 2020 sales figures, which stood at 38,065 units. This in comparison to the figures announced in June 2019 have seen a decline of 35 per cent as the company had sold a total of 58,339 units back then. The domestic sales done by the company last month were 36,510 units which in June 2019 was 55,082 units, amounting to a decline of 34 per cent. Even the exports done in June saw a drop of 52 per cent from 3,257 units last year to 1,555 units this year.
The YTD performance for 2020-21 stood atÂ 54,937 units in the domestic market, which wasÂ 1,74,430 units in YTD 2019-20 reporting a dip of 69 per cent. Exports for the same wereÂ 2,330 units compared to 9,159 units in the previous, amounting to a decline of 75 per cent. Total sales for YTD 2020-21 wereÂ 57,267 units compared toÂ 1,83,589 units in the previous. Earlier this month, RE started work at more than 850 sales, service and 425 studio stores positioned across the country. Adhering to government guidelines, RE offices, stores and manufacturing facilities were shut between March 22-May 5, 2020. The company has gradually resumed work at its manufacturing facility from May 6 onward.
Recently, Royal Enfield launched a new range of riding gear, apparel and accessories for women, and these are available for customers online as well as at dealerships. This includes riding jackets, trousers, gloves, helmets, t-shirts, shirts and jeans. The prices for accessories start from Rs 700 and go up to Rs 14,000. The products have been designed considering the riding habits of female customers and the varied weather conditions across the country. During the initial phase, these products will be available at select stores in Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kolkata
