Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset announced for future gaming-centric smartphones
Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 855 processor back in December last year at its annual Qualcomm event. Ever since then we have seen several flagship smartphones like the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, among others come with Snapdragon 855 processor. Amidst Snapdragon 865 rumours Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 855 + on Monday. The Snapdragon 855+ comes as a good news for the gamers out there.
"Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ Mobile Platform is built for gaming, with cutting edge performance, improved graphics, an uplift in CPU performance, and robust 4G and 5G connectivity," says Qualcomm. We expect to see some of the upcoming gaming smartphones to come with Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Asus has already confirmed that the Asus ROG II will be use Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chip.

The Snapdragon 855+ comes with Kryo 485 CPU clocked at up to 2.96GHz. The Plus is almost 4.2 per cent improved in terms of CPU performance compared to the 2.84Ghz of the Snapdragon 855, while the Adreno 640 GPU inside the chip is clocked 15 per cent faster than the Snapdragon 855.
Qualcomm has revealed that Snapdragon 855+ is capable of delivering 15 per cent faster graphics rendering and an uplift in CPU performance compared to the standard Snapdragon 855. Commenting on the newly announced flagship chipset Qualcomm says, "Snapdragon 855+ Mobile Platform is a new force to be reckoned with, unlocking maximum power and performance for mobile gaming."
The Snapdragon 855+ comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming that will ensure to offer an enhanced and improved gaming experience. "The Snapdragon Elite Gaming sets you up for victory with a full arsenal of hardware and software features, especially when you game in 5G. The Snapdragon 855+ harnesses multi-gigabit 4G connectivity while unleashing cutting-edge 5G experiences," notes Qualcomm.
