2. TS Eye on Hosting Next Khelo India Youth Games

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked Officer on Special Duty Bhoopal Reddy to submit a note on hosting the next edition of Khelo India Youth Games in the city.

This was in response to the plea of Sports Authority of Telangana State chairman A Venkateshwar Reddy. On 23 January, Sports Authority of India director general Neelam Kapur had written to Chief Secretary SK Joshi about inviting bids from all states and Union Territories for holding the next Khelo Games this November.

4. Mother Throws Baby Into Sump

The Gachibowli police is seeking medical and legal assistance in a case in which a woman, allegedly suffering from a psychological disorder, threw her one-and-a-half-month-old baby girl into a water sump while her husband and other family members were asleep.

During investigation, the police found that Deepthi had thrown the baby, Akshita Sai, into the water tank and gone to sleep. She confessed the same before police and told family members she was driven by some external force.

5. Warden Fractures Boy’s Hand Before Exams

A Class IX residential student at Shantiniketan Vidyalaya in Shamirpet fractured his hand after a hostel warden hit him with a stick on Tuesday.

The student alleged that the warden threatened him against informing his parents, telling him to give some other reason for the fracture. A police case was registered at Shamirpet police station on Monday after his parents lodged a complaint.
