The smart TV market segment in India is booming right now. One of the major contributions towards this growth comes from the smartphone brands as many have ventured into this segment following the success of Xiaomi. Following Motorola, Huawei, Xiaomi and Honor, HMD Global is also in plans to launch the Nokia Smart TV in India.
We already know that the Nokia Smart TV will be launched in India on December 5 in partnership with the e-commerce portal Flipkart. While a few features of the Nokia TV have already been leaked, one of the latest reports reveals the pricing and availability details of the upcoming smart TV.
Nokia Smart TV Details
Going by The Mobile Indian, the first Nokia Smart TV is all set to be a 55-inch offering with a 4K UHD panel. It is said to carry the model number '55CAUHDN' and boot Android 9 Pie. Like the other smart TVs in the market, this one from Nokia is also believed to arrive with Google Play Store to let users download their favorite apps on the TV.
Besides the 4K UHD support, the Nokia Smart TV is likely to arrive with the Intelligent Dimming tech, which will provide deeper blacks for improved contrast. The Nokia Smart TV will be assembled by Skyworth India Electronics in Hyderabad, claims the report. Notably, it is a subsidiary of China-based Skyworth Overseas Development Company alongside Skyquad.
Nokia Smart TV Price Hinted
It is known that the Nokia Smart TV will be exclusively available via Flipkart as the companies have partnered for the same. Furthermore, the report adds that the 55-inch model of the Nokia TV all set to be launched on December 5 could be priced around Rs. 39,999.
What We Think
We already know that the Nokia Smart TV will b fitted with JBL speakers, which will provide better audio. Usually, the most affordable smart TVs do not offer good audio performance, so Nokia TV is expected to be a game-changer with a promising audio experience. Maybe, buyers of this smart TV can skip buying an external speaker or soundbar.
Having said that, we can expect the Nokia smart TV to be a rival to similar offerings from Xiaomi, Vu, Thomson, Motorola, and others.
