Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 (2018) expected to launch on May 29, HMD Global sends invite
HMD Global seems to be on a roll of late. The Finland-based smartphone manufacturer on Wednesday launched the company's first ever notched display phone - the refreshed version of the Nokia X, and calls it the Nokia X6. The new Nokia X series phone comes with all glass body, dual cameras at the back and iPhone X-like notch on the top of the display. The Nokia X6 is launched at a competitive price tag of CNY 1299, which is roughly around Rs 13,800 for the base model that comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. Looks like HMD Global is in no mood to just stop here. The smartphone maker is reportedly gearing up to announce the revised versions of the last year's Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 phones now. HMD Global has started sending the media invite for the event where the company is expected to launch the new Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5.
According to the invite, the launch event is scheduled to take place on May 29 in Moscow, Russia at 7PM (Moscow time). India launch details are yet to be revealed though. But, HMD Global in the invite notes that the company will be launching "Nokia phones" "worldwide". According to the Nokiapoweruser, the invite reads as follows: "Dear friends. We invite you to worldwide premiere new Nokia phones" The phrase indicates two things -- one, the upcoming phones will be launched globally, which means they will hit the Indian shores as well, very soon. Second, by including words like "Nokia phones" in the invite, HMD Global also confirms the coming of more than one phone.
Meanwhile, the picturesque landscape in the background of the event invite most possibly points towards the camera quality of the upcoming Nokia phones. The invite notes that HMD Global's CEO Florian Seiche, CMO Pekka Rantala, and CPO Juho Sarvikas will be present at the event. To recollect, HMD Global, earlier this year at MWC 2018 event, launched the refreshed version of the Nokia 6 2017, and calls it's the Nokia 6.1 or Nokia 6 (2018).
Although the invite doesn't reveal any details about the smartphones, considering the number of rumours pouring on the internet, there are high chances that HMD Global may announce the Nokia 2, Nokia 3, and Nokia 5 refreshes.
As of yet, not much is known about the Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 refreshes. Last week, HMD Global Chief Product officer Juho Sarvikas confirmed the coming of Nokia 5 (2018) in response to a user query on Twitter. It is when a Twitter user asked Sarvikas about the coming of Nokia 5 (2018), Sarvikas asked him to "Stay tuned", hinting at the imminent launch of the phone. Earlier this week, popular tipster, Roland Quandt confirmed the coming of Nokia 3.1, however, didn't reveal any specs details of the phone though. For now, we aren't aware of the specs details that the new Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 phones, but, what we know for sure so far is that the phones will come with better hardware set up like improved cameras, battery, powerful processors, latest software, and better design.
