Motorola likely to launch new Moto Mods in India today

Last year, Motorola brought its first modular smartphone to India – the Moto Z Play and the Moto Z, followed by the Moto Z2 Play eventually. The highlight of these smartphones is that they came along with these slap-on Moto Mods, that became one of the biggest attraction of the series. Now, according to a tweet by Motorola India and the company’s managing Director Sudhin Mathur, the Lenovo-owned company is ready to add a few new mods to its offerings today.




Besides, these tweets, dropping a little more hint was company managing director Sudhin Mathur’s tweet, which read:


Going by this tweet, it sounds like the new Moto Mod by the company will double as a power bank, but a similar one – Incipio offGRID Power Pack – already exists.

Further, a Gadgets Now post also reported the same, revealing that Motorola has scheduled an event in New Delhi, where the company is expected to launch new Moto Mods. The invite reportedly read, “say hello to a brand new generation of moto mods. Come experience the newest members of the mods family as we bring you a new way of transforming your Motorola smartphones.”

Just last month, Motorola launched a new printer mod for its Moto Z series of smartphones. The company entered into partnership with Polaroid, and launched the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod. This particular mod was launched in the US and was yet to be announced in India. Since the company is holding an event today, we can expect the printer mod to be launched in India as well.

As of now, there are four Moto Mods available in India. These include the JBL SoundBoost Speaker, Hasselblad True Zoom Camera, Instashare Projector and Incipio offGRID Power Pack. The JBL speaker is available for Rs 5,999, the camera is available for Rs 14,999, the projector is available for Rs 15,999, and the power pack is available for Rs 4,999.
