MG Hector sales hit 2,018 units in August 2019

MG (Morris Garages) Motor India has sold 2,018 units of Hector in August 2019. The carmaker has recorded a handsome jump over July 2019, when it had retailed 1,508 units. MG Hector was launched in the country on June 27 for an introductory price of Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

MG Motor India is also planning to increase the production of Hector to 3,000 units at its Halol manufacturing facility.

MG Hector is available in four variants -- Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. It comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. There is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol mill that churns out 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The diesel variant makes use of a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor that produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The petrol engine also has a 48V hybrid option with slightly better fuel efficiency. While the company offers a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, the petrol option (only non-hybrid) also gets a 6-speed DCT.
