Maruti Suzuki S-Presso variant-wise features explained

Maruti Suzuki India is all set to bring a new vehicle by the end of this month and rumours are that it will be christened as S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be an entry-level vehicle and challenge Renault Kwid. Now, details about the variant-wise features of the upcoming S-Presso are out.

According to a report by Autocar India, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be available in four variants -- Std, LXi, VXi and VXi+. Apart from the mandatory safety features, S-Presso Std will not have much to boast about. S-Presso LXi will be equipped with an air conditioner as well as power steering. S-Presso VXi will come with features like front power windows, keyless entry with central locking and body coloured bumpers.

The report also claimed that the top-spec S-Presso VXi+ will have features like 17.78 cm Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls and body-coloured ORVMs, among others.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will have standard safety features like ABS with EBD, driver side airbag, reverse parking sensor, speed alert system and driver and co-driver seat belt reminder. The top-of-the-line VXi+ trim will additionally have a passenger side airbag. The vehicle will also have a digital speedometer.

Powering Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be a BS6-compliant, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, K10B engine. This engine is currently available with Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 but in a BS4 iteration. In Alto K10, the powertrain delivers 68 hp and 90 Nm of torque and is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AGS (auto gear shift). Below are the dimensions of the upcoming car.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso might be based on the Future-S Concept. There is no clarity about the price of S-Presso, but it will be competitive in comparison to that of Renault Kwid that is available in the range of Rs 2.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 4.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
