Man gets girlfriend's family intoxicated, kills her for rejecting sexual advances
A man in Chhattisgarh killed his girlfriend for rejecting his sexual advances. According to the police, Surendra, 29, was in a relationship with the 19-year-old victim and knew her family.
On July 1, Surendra went to her home Thothajhariya village in Dhamtari area, gave alcohol to her grandmother and father. When they went to sleep, he tried to force her into having a physical relationship, but when she said no, he stabbed her with a kitchen knife, the police said.
The victim's father later registered a police complaint and her body was sent for post mortem. The police registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code after the post mortem report revealed that she was killed with sharp object.
Subsequently on July 15, the police conducted an inquiry and apprehended Surendra on the basis of the victim's father's testimony. The accused confessed to murder during interrogation, the police said.
