Loose Women has been praised by viewers for featuring an all Black panel for the first time in its 21 years on air.

A welcome change, today's (October 22) episode of the ITV daytime staple saw Charlene White, Kéllé Bryan, Judi Love, and Brenda Edwards host the show as the panel discussed the likes of parental responsibility and discipline.

Many viewers were thrilled to watch four Black women on the programme, with a number commenting on Twitter that they "loved" to see Loose Women championing diversity and greater representation.

"What a moment", a viewer tweeted.

Others noted the "refreshing" image of the panel, while arguing that it should not be surprising, or a break from the 'norm', to watch Black women on primetime television.

"The fact I notice there are 4 black women on #LooseWomen today, shows it's never happened before," one viewer wrote. "We shouldn't notice it, as it's just 4 women but it's nice & refreshing to see. Hopefully it all becomes the norm."

Another echoed a similar sentiment: "So refreshing to turn my telly on and see 4 beautiful black woman running the show, things have a long way to go but this is a great start, never in my life have i seen this happen on a major network".

Pre-empting criticism, one fan asked if viewers would moan if the show had featured an "all-white panel", as it usually does. "Good to hear perspectives on telly that have been regularly excluded for years," they added.

More of this please, Loose Women!

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
