Kyle Jamieson has had an interesting international career so far for New Zealand. He made his international debut against India when the side toured the country last year. Soon he played for the team across all formats and became a regular feature in the playing XI as well. He was then roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL where he played his first season in the cash-rich league alongside Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Both the players got to know each other from close quarters.

Meanwhile talking to ESPN Cricinfo, veteran South African pacer Dale Steyn said that Jamieson should have learnt from his experience from playing his first Test series against India. He took nine wickets from just two Tests including the wicket of his RCB skipper.

Kyle Jamieson is a part of New Zealand’s five-man pace attack in the World Test Championship final. Meanwhile, the Kiwis have never lost a Test match whenever the side has played Jamieson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Neil Wagner. They have won all four Tests with all the pacers part of the playing XI.

“The way that he started, especially against India, he is going to be living off that confidence, even though it was a long time ago” said Steyn.

Steyn has lauded the five-man pace attack saying that all of them with their experience of playing in England conditions should prove a tough proposition for the Indian batters.

“We know what Wagner can do, We know what Boult can do. Southee has been there for ages, he swings the ball beautifully so its a great bowling line-up.”

The veteran Proteas pacer also kept a word on the playing conditions in the WTC final. He said that having picked four-seamers, New Zealand would expect the ball to move throughout the remaining days of play.

Steyn said that not seeing the conditions from close quarters, he is expecting the ball to do the most with the available conditions.
