JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer: You have to pay Rs 1095, and not Rs 501 for your new JioPhone

JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer is live but you have to pay more than Rs 501 to avail it.

Reliance Jio's JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer is live since July 20. Under the offer, Jio is offering a chance to exchange your old feature phone for a new JioPhone at only Rs 501. But...remember no story is complete without a but. The but this time is the hidden purchase amount of the JioPhone which is not being talked about enough.

Monsoon Hungama is a combined offering of a JioPhone at effectively Rs 501 and a 6 months unlimited voice and data recharge of Rs 594. What this means is that Jio is selling its JioPhone at Rs 501 but with a mandatory recharge of Rs 594. The company says that it is a must to recharge your JioPhone by Rs 594 plan. In case you don't want to spend this much and go for a cheaper JioPhone plan like Rs 49 or Rs 153 then you will have to purchase the phone at Rs 1500, out of the Monsoon Hungama offer.

So basically, the total amount you pay at the time of purchase if Rs 1095 (Rs 501+Rs 594). What does Jio offer with Rs 594 plan? The telecom company is offering six recharge packs worth Rs 99 for six months (Rs 99 X 6 months=Rs 594) that offers unlimited voice calls, 300 SMSes and 0.5 GB data per day for 28 days. Additionally, Jio is also giving an extra 6 GB data voucher, which adds the total data up to 90 GB for six months.

How to avail the JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer?

Carry your old mobile phone in working condition along with your Aadhaar number to any nearby Jio Store. Also, make sure that your old feature phone is not less than 3.5 years old and should have its battery and charger intact. The company will accept any 2G, 3G, 4G (non-VOLTE) for exchange but JioPhone or any CDMA or operator locked devices stand invalid for the offer. Customers will get a new Jio SIM with the JioPhone but in case someone wants to retain their existing number, they will have to opt for Mobile Number Portability(MNP). Once the MNP to Jio is complete, they can proceed for Monsoon Hungama exchange offer.
