JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer goes live today, here's how you can buy JioPhone for Rs 501

JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer is an ideal deal for those who are looking to buy a new and cheap feature phone.

China is seeing the start of Vivo X21 Night Purple version sale while India has woken up to the launch of JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer today. The Jio offer which was scheduled to go live on July 21 has been advanced by a day to launch today i.e. July 20. The sale of the JioPhone at Rs 501 begins from 5:01 PM. You can see what Jio has done here with the launch timing. It is exact 5:01 PM because it matches the Rs 501 price tag that comes with the JioPhone under the offer.

Coming to what the JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offers. The offer is an ideal deal for those who are looking to buy a new but cheap feature phone. The feature phone market is flooded with options in India but it wouldn't be wrong to say that JioPhone stands out from the crowd. The JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offers a chance to buy a new JioPhone at Rs 501 in return for any old feature phone. The phone can be of any brand.

Those who have registered interest for the offer will receive notification alert when the offer goes live at their nearby store. To purchase the JioPhone under this offer, head to your nearby Jio store or any Reliance digital store. Do not forget to carry your Aadhaar ID and a passport size photo along with your old feature phone to the store.

The JioPhone was announced by the company last year at its 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at an effectively free of cost. Basically, you have to pay nothing for the phone. An amount of Rs 1500 has to be paid at the time of purchase which would be refunded by the company after three years. Also, the phone came bundled with a data and calling plan. This was the story when JioPhone launch was in its early days. With the new JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer going live, the phone is no longer free. You have to pay Rs 501 which is non-refundable. So, once you have paid Rs 501 and have got the JioPhone, you won't get it back, not after one nor two not even after three years unlike the Rs 1500 security deposit which is refundable after three years.

The phone will not come bundled with any plans. There is no data or calling plan recharged on it. You will have to separately recharge your phone with the either Rs 49 or Rs 153 plans that are exclusively available for the JioPhone.

While the JioPhone is already supporting Google Maps now, the company has also announced support for YouTube, WhatsApp and Facebook for the phone starting August 15.
