Jeep Compass Trailhawk is finally coming to India

Off-road enthusiasts rejoice! After what seems like an eternity, Jeep India is finally launching the Compass Trailhawk soon. The Compass Trailhawk, to recap, is the much desired automatic version of the diesel variant, but there is more to it than meets the eye.

The Compass Trailhawk would be the flagship Jeep in India and would be eyeing the entry level compact luxury space. With an estimated price of Rs 27 lakh, the Compass Trailhawk would be aimed at the hardcore SUV loving buyers -- who would otherwise pay more and get a Fortuner 4X4 or pay less and get an Isuzu D-Max. There is plenty to like about the Compass Trailhawk as many might say it’s the first ‘proper Jeep’ and something that embraces its rugged roots even more.

The Trailhawk for starters has three big changes worth talking about, namely its 2.0 diesel which would be BS6 compliant plus the addition of the 9-speed automatic and of course a more hardcore 4x4 system. The Trailhawk has an additional 'rock mode' over the current modes for its 4x4 system plus it even has low-range and a rear-locking differential- a must for any serious off-road junkie!

Even the front and rear bumpers have been retouched for better approach and departure angles and as a result the car's ground clearance has now swollen to an impressive 225 mm.

To visually differentiate it as the flagship variant, the Compass Trailhawk will get more features, special Trailhawk badging, different alloys, decals and different skid plates. Bookings start next month end with a launch following that. While it may seem a lot more expensive over the base Compass there is no denying its value as a complete package.
