Jeep Compass Trailhawk bookings to start by mid-June in India

Jeep Compass Trailhawk is expected to get a 2.0 litre diesel engine that will comply with BSVI (BS6) norms and come mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk is expected to be launched in India in July 2019. While there have been reports that this off-road variant of Jeep Compass will be premiered in India in the month of June, there is now fresh news regarding the bookings of the off-roader.

According to a report by Autocar India, the bookings of Jeep Compass Trailhawk will commence in mid-June. Currently, the India-spec Jeep Compass gets two engine options. There is a 1.4-litre Multiair petrol engine that makes 163 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and gets an option for a 7-speed automatic transmission also. Then, there is a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine that produces 173 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. However, the diesel motor is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. There is no option for an automatic transmission. This diesel powertrain is expected to feature in the upcoming MG Hector also.

We are also expecting Jeep Compass Trailhawk to get a 2.0-litre diesel engine that will comply with BSVI (BS6) norms and come mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Jeep Compass is priced in India between Rs 15.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 23.11 lakh (ex-showroom). Taking price range of Jeep Compass into account, we can say that the Trailhawk might be priced between Rs 26 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jeep Compass Trailhawk will get the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System combined with the Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 System. This would mean impressive on-road traction and better off-road performance. It will feature Ruby Red tow hooks, with two hooks up front and one at the rear.

The 2019 Compass Trailhawk is expected to feature the Uconnect 4 infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen. It will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well. The off-roader is also expected to come with leather-trimmed seats accented by signature ruby red stitching throughout.
