Jawa Motorcycles had launched its third motorcycle back in November 2019 in the Indian market after the successful revival of the brand. Called the Perak, is bobber-sytle motorcycle and retails at Rs 1.94 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
The company also launched a delivery estimator back in January to provide an approximate time of arrival to its customers. However, the motorcycle deliveries have been delayed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
According to the recent video posted in Rushlane, the motorcycle has been spotted testing after the launch. The reports suggest the retro-motorcycle could still be awaiting approval for homologation from ARAI. This could result in motorcycles taking a little longer to reach its customers.
However, Jawa dealerships across the country have the Perak on display and are offering test rides of the motorcycle as well. All in all, the motorcycle is expected to have a longer wait time if one is looking to purchase the motorcycle.
The Perak is the brand's flagship motorcycle and features a bobber design. It is powered by a liquid-cooled single-cylinder 334cc DOHC engine that produces 30bhp and 31Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a standard six-speed gearbox. In comparison, the engine on the Perak is 41cc larger than the ones on Jawa 300 and the Forty-Two. It also produces 3bhp and 3Nm of torque more than its younger siblings.
Other features on the motorcycle include an extended swingarm, a single seat for the rider, a teardrop-shaped 14-litre fuel tank, dual exhaust, lower set tail lamps with turn indicators, round-shaped headlamps, bar-end mirrors, and a single-pod analogue instrument cluster; among others.
Suspension on the Perak is handled by a telescopic fork at the front with fork covers and a mono-shock setup with 7-step adjustability at the rear. Braking on the motorcycle is handled by disc brakes on either end, this includes 2800mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
The Perak is offered with a dual-channel ABS as standard. At the front, it uses 18-inch spoke wheel shod with 100 by 90 tyre. While the rear uses a smaller 17-inch wheel 140 by 70 profile tyre.
Thoughts About The Jawa Perak Bobber Motorcycle Continues With Testing Phase
The Jawa Perak is a one of kind motorcycle offering in the Indian market at the price range. The bobber does not have any direct rivals in the market, however, it will soon be joined by a couple of new motorcycles from Royal Enfield in the coming months. With the restrictions lifted, we expect the wait time to reduce in the coming weeks.
