And that’s just assuming his money doesn’t keep multiplying by itself..

Bill Gates makes more money in a single year than you’d make in a lifetime. The tech mogul who has given nearly 27 per cent of his wealth to charity, still has a fair amount of money in his bank account. Depending on whose figures you take as being accurate, we calculated that Bill Gates makes anywhere between $23,000 and $30,000 per minute. And that’s just based on how much he earned between 2018 and 2019.

According to the latest Forbes figures, Bill Gates is worth $126 billion. This makes him the fourth richest person on the planet. Gates lives on an estate in Washington called Xanadu 2.0 that he purchased for $2 million back in 1988. It took him seven years and $63 million more to bring it to his standard of liking. By all estimates, the property is so large that they have an artificial stream with trout. The sand on the small private beach at the edge of the property is said to have been imported from the Caribbean and the house itself is sprawling with multiple bedrooms, dining rooms and bathrooms. Gates also owns multiple luxury cars and a private jet.

Despite these splurges, Gates is believed to be a relatively frugal spender. There are no unnecessary shopping trips or impulse purchases. Everything he seems to buy is either an investment or a necessity – and yes when you do become as rich as Gates, a sprawling house and a private jet are as essential to your survival as, say, a 1BHK house and a car is to a middle class person.

Among the things he’s recently bought is, well, farmland. With over 242,000 acres of farmland under his name, as of today, Bill Gates is the largest farmland owner in the US. While his plans for this land are still unclear, it is evident that the tech mogul has purchased the land with a strategic plan in mind.

Even as he continues to grow richer every year, Bill Gates is also an impact investor, which is to say he invests in a manner that doesn’t just get him great financial returns but also creates social and environmental impact. With his ex-wife, Melinda, Bill Gates runs the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is the largest private charity foundation in the world.

With all of this, his net worth stands at $126 billion, which is 126,000,000,000 in figures. Should he wake up one morning and decide that he’d like to spend a million dollars every day, it would take him a little over 345 years to go completely broke.

This is also assuming that once he starts spending those million dollars daily, the money doesn’t keep multiplying by itself. Which, let’s accept it, is quite unlikely to happen. Because once you make that kind of money, it is quite literally a gift that keeps on giving.
