Hyundai will be launching its new compact SUV in May with the global reveal in April. This world debut of its compact SUV traces its origin to the Carlino concept from the 2016 Auto Expo.
After three years, this compact SUV will hit the showroom floors and would be positioned below the Creta. We expect it to be the biggest among the under 4m SUVs, much like the XUV300. The design though would be more boxy and SUV-like while still carrying some Creta-like design details — giving the vehicle a ‘mini Creta look’.
The design though is distinctive and has more presence over the Creta, so far as carrying the new Hyundai design language is concerned. The design of the front is much more like the new Santa Fe (available globally). The headlamps and DRLs are separate to have a more aggressive look while there is a chrome rich grille up front.
Inside we expect big equipment levels and Hyundai will give the XUV300 big competition with features like cooled seats, sunroof, all disc brakes and a large touchscreen along with all the usual features. The big change also would be the engines as this would be the first Hyundai to get a turbocharged petrol. It will be 1.0 turbo petrol and will have the torque to match the SUV’s needs.
The entry level models would have a manual gearbox along with 1.4l diesel and petrol engines. More details would be coming soon but what are your thoughts on this Brezza rival from Hyundai? Let us know.
