Honor Vision smart TV series launches with HarmonyOS, 55-inch 4K HDR display: Price starts at around Rs 38,000
Slowly most smartphone manufacturers are entering the smart TV industry. Smartphone brands like LG, Samsung and Xiaomi already make smart TVs. Honor now joins the bandwagon. Rumours about Honor TV have been making rounds on the internet for a while now. The company has put an end to the rumours and launches its first-ever smart TV. At 2019 HDC Honor launches the world's first smart screen equipped with company's self-developed HarmonyOS. It is the Honor Vision. The Vision TV series include two smart TVs.
One is the Honor Vision. Second is the Honor Vision Pro. The base model of the Honor Vision with 2GB+16GB costs RMB 3,799 that translates to around Rs 38,000. The second model is a Pro version of Honor Vision and this one comes with 2GB+32GB and costs RMB 4,799 (roughly translates to around Rs 48,000). Both the smart TVs from Honor are yet to hit the Indian market. The company is yet to reveal details about the India launch of the Honor Vision series but we expect the smart TVs to launch very soon. Possibly in some months from now.
One of the key highlights of the Honor Vision series is that both smart TVs are -- the operating system. The Honor Vision and Honor Vision Pro run on HarmonyOS that the company announced at the same event. The HarmonyOS is a "distributed operating system designed to deliver a cohesive user experience across all devices and user scenarios."
"HarmonyOS will be optimized and gradually adopted across the brand's smart devices including smart watches, smart screens, in-vehicle systems, and smart speakers. HarmonyOS will be released as an open-source platform worldwide to encourage adoption," the company says. "The new innovative HarmonyOS supports all user scenarios across a broad range of devices and platforms, in order to deliver a consistent experience with low latency and strong security."
Both the Honor Vision and Honor Vision Pro come packed with a 55-inch 4K HDR display. The Honor Vision series sport three-sided bezel-less Full-View design and offers a screen-to-body ratio of up to 94 per cent. The Honor Vision series sports a 6.9mm full metal frame and a diamond-patterned rear and supports an intelligent breathing light and TUV Rheinland Eye Comfort Mode. On the hardware front the Honor Vision series comes equipped with three self-developed intelligent chipsets -- Honghu 818 Intelligent Display Chipset, an AI Camera NPU chipset and a flagship-level Wi-Fi chipset.
The Honor Vision series offers an extraordinary audio and video experience and includes a library of content and a range of other platforms. With Honor Vision the company wants to "create a one-stop-shop for TV series, variety shows, movies, music, animation and more." The Honor Vision includes an intelligent display that is equipped with the Family Note Function and allows users to transfer 600M images between their smartphone and display in just 20 seconds-100 times faster than transferring via Bluetooth.
