Honor 20 real images leak, confirms quad rear cameras: India launch set for June 11
The smartphone market in India is presently busy with a couple of major launches in the premium segments. OnePlus has already launched its OnePlus 7 series and now, it's time for rival Honor to unveil its alternative for the Indian market. Honor is expected to bring the Honor 20 series phones to India and the launch event will take place on June 11. For the first time, Honor is expected to unveil three different phones under the Honor 20 moniker.
The Honor 20 series is expected to compete with the recently launched OnePlus 7 series phones in the country. Previously, the Honor 10 from last year was offered as a rival to the OnePlus 6 and hence, Honor is expected to repeat the same. The Honor 20 series is expected to have three models for the first time. While the Honor 20 Lite is already official, rumours predict the possibility of Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro.
The Honor 20, as the leaks (from Winfuture) and rumours have suggested will have a quad camera setup. The Honor 20 Pro will also have a quad camera setup at the rear but with different types of lenses. The Honor 20 is expected to get a 48-megapixel primary camera along with a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. The fourth camera will be a 2-megapixel macro lens. It is expected to get the Kirin 980 chipset from the Huawei P30 Pro and will be offered with 6GB RAM. A 6.2-inch full HD+ LCD display with narrow bezels and punch-hole style front camera is also rumoured as well.
A recent leak from Android Authority showed the device from multiple angles, confirming all the above specifications. As with previous Honor smartphones, the Honor 20 will also get a gradient finish.
As for the Honor 20 Pro, nothing much is known about the device. However, it is speculated that the Pro will have a similar quad camera setup with different types of individual cameras. Also, instead of an LCD display, the Honor 20 Pro will get an OLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Honor 20 series will be unveiled globally in London on May 21. When launched, expect Honor position the Honor 20 against the OnePlus 7 and Honor 20 Pro against the OnePlus 7 Pro.
