Google Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL go on sale in India: Should you buy it

While the Google Pixel 3a costs Rs 39,999 in India, the Google Pixel 3a XL costs Rs 44,999 in India.

Google launched its budget smartphones - the Google Pixel 3a and the Google Pixel 3a XL - during its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2019, last week. And now, nearly a week after their launch, the two newly launched Pixel smartphones are going on sale in India for the first time. Interested buyers can head to Flipkart to get their hands on the newly launched Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL smartphones. The two devices cost Rs 39,999 and Rs 44,999 in India.

Interestingly, both Flipkart and Google are offering interesting deals on the purchase of the newly launched Pixel smartphones. For starters, Flipkart is offering up to Rs 4,000 off on the purchase of the Pixel 3a or the Pixel 3a XL smartphone via HDFC bank debit or credit cards or on using HDFC bank cards for EMI transactions. In addition to this, interested buyers can get up to Rs 3,000 off on exchanging their old smartphones with a new Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL smartphone.

Customers can also purchase the newly launched Pixel smartphones using no-cost EMIs for a span of up to 6 months via Bajaj Finserv and all major credit and debit cards. And Flipkart Plus customers can get Rs 1,000 off on redeeming 20 Flipkart Coins at the time of purchasing the Pixel smartphone.

But the good news doesn't right there as Google, as a part of the launch offer is giving three months of YouTube Music Premium subscription, which we had reviewed back in March, for free. This means that Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL users will get a three-month long access to YouTube's vast catalogue of music videos, audio songs, covers and concerts in an ad-free format for free. And in case you don't like the experience, Flipkart is giving users a chance to exchange their Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL smartphones within three months of purchase at a 90 per cent return value.

If you aren't sure as to the features the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL smartphones offer, here's a quick guide for you. The Google Pixel 3a and the Google Pixel 3a smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor and they sport 4GB RAM with 64GB storage space. The two smartphones run on Android 9.0 Pie and have a 12.2MP camera with a Dual Pixel Sony IMX 363 sensor at the back and an 8MP camera at the front. It is worth nothing that the camera sensor on the Pixel 3a smartphones is the same as that present on the Google Pixel 3 smartphones. During our initial review of the Google Pixel 3a and the Google Pixel 3a XL, they performed spectacularly well while capturing low-light shots, showing no sign of distortion or noise. The two smartphones worked without a hitch for most parts during my initial assessement. In addition to this, the two Pixel smartphones come with an 18W USB-C power adapter with support for fast charging.

The only difference between the two smartphones is that of the battery and the display. While the Pixel 3a comes with a 5.6-inch full HD+ gOLED display and 3,000mAh battery, the Pixel 3a XL comes with a 6.0-inch full HD+ gOLED display and 3,700mAh battery. So, if you are looking for a great camera phone that doesn't burn a 60K or 70K large hole in your pocket, Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL smartphones are a great buy.
