Google launches Home and Home Mini in India, price starts from Rs 4,499 but for some it is free

The interesting bit about the Home and the Home Mini is that Google has partnered with a number of companies for their rollout in India and has lined up some cool offers.

Google on Tuesday launched its Home and Home Mini smart speakers in India. The Home, which is slightly bigger, will sell at a price of Rs 9,999 whereas the donut size the Home Mini has a price tag of Rs 4,499. The two smart speakers compete with the Amazons Echo speakers in India. Online the two smart speakers will be exclusive to Flipkart but Google said that in offline retail stores the speakers will be available in over 750 stores.

The interesting bit about the Home and the Home Mini is that Google has partnered with a number of companies for their rollout in India and has lined up some cool offers. One of these offers will see consumers getting a free Home Mini. Google said that the Home Mini will be bundled free with ACT Broadband connection if the subscriber is option for a 90mbps or higher speed plan and paying advance 12-month rental.

The Google Home, just like other smart speakers, comes bundled with a smart virtual assistant. In this case that happens to be Google Assistant. Users can talk to the smart Home or Home Mini and tell it to do several tasks, like reading news, playing music or even dimming or turning off light in case you have smart lighting in your home.

Google on Tuesday said that Google Home and Google Home Mini will be available at Flipkart as well as over 750 retail stores across the country including Reliance Digital, Croma, Bajaj Electronics, Vijay Sales, Sangeetha, and Poorvika. Google Home Mini is available in two colours Chalk and Charcoal while Google Home will be available in Chalk. Coral will be coming soon, said a Google spokesperson.

Apart from the tie up with ACT, Google has also partnered with Jio and Philips. Here are some of the offers that Google is offering when you get the Home and Home Mini.

If you buy it from Flipkart, you will get a free JioFi router along with music subscription with Google Home or Home Mini.

If you buy Google Home from Reliance Digital Store or MyJio store, you will get a free JioFi router with 800GB of 4G data (its worth Rs 2,499 says Google).

If you buy the Home and Home Mini from Philips, you will get bundled Hue lights at special prices. The hue lights are smart lights that can be controlled with Home or Home Mini using voice commands.

If you are buying the Home or Home Mini using HDFC Bank credit card, you will get a 10 per cent cash back.

And as noted earlier, ACT Fibernet retail customers subscribing to 12-month advance rental plans of 90mbps and above will receive a Google Home Mini.
