Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the country's premier military research and development agency has invited applications for the selection of 127 ex-ITI Trade Apprentices with its Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) laboratory located in Avadi, Chennai for a period of one year.
The recruitment for Trade Apprentices is for various Trades - Carpenter, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Draughtsman (Mechanical), Electrician, Electronics, Fitter, Machinist, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Turner and Welder.

Educational Qualifications & Selection Process
Interested ex-ITI candidates must have secured a 2-year ITI certificate from an Institute/Board recognized by the NCVT covered under the gazette order of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. However, candidates applying for the Trades involving Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) and Welder should have a 1-year ITI certificate from an Institute/Board recognized by the NCVT.
The selection of candidates for various Trades will be based on the performance in the personal interview, details regarding which (date, time and venue) will be sent to the applicant's registered mail-ID and phone number following the closure of online registration.
The selected candidates under various Trades will be paid a prescribed stipend of Rs.10,739/- per month for Trades involving Carpenter, COPA & Welder and Rs.11,552/- per month for all other Trades.
Candidates shortlisted for the personal interview should produce their original certificates consisting of T.C., ITI Certificate, Mark Sheets, Photo ID Proof, Aadhaar Card, Address Proof and other necessary documents. They are also required to carry a photo/xerox copy & printout of the online application to the interview.

- Candidates should pay Rs 30/- as part of the registration fee. However, candidates belonging to the categories SC/ST/OBC/PWD are exempted from fee payment.
- Only candidates registered online will be invited for the face-to-face interview and intimation regarding the same will be sent to their registered e-mail ID 30 days prior to the interview.
