A 31-year-old woman from Uzbekistan on Monday alleged that she was beaten up and gangraped by three men inside a car in southwest Delhi's Vasant Kunj area. The incident happened on Saturday.
Police have arrested two people in connection with the case. One of the accused, a resident of Gurugram, is known to the victim. He had befriended the woman some seven months ago.
In her complaint, the woman has named the three men who gangraped her.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and the matter is being investigated, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Devender Arya said.
The woman had come to India two months ago and was living with her friends in Madangiri. He befriended her seven months ago.
"Her friend [one of the accused] called her to meet on Saturday near a mall in Vasant Kunj. He picked her from Vasant Kunj, took her to Gurugram in his car in which two of his friends were already sitting," police quoted the woman's complaint.
The woman alleged that the men started assaulting her and beat her up when she resisted. The men, she alleged, later turns to rape her. The victim said that she was dumped near her flat.
She narrated the whole incident to her friends who took her to AIIMS. The hospital staff then informed the police.
