Deepika Padukone to collaborate with Farah Khan for action comedy?

Buzz has it that Deepika Padukone might collaborate with Farah Khan after five years. It was only recently that Farah announced that she is making an action comedy with Rohit Shetty.

A day after Farah Khan made the big announcement of returning to the director's chair with an action comedy, buzz has it that she might work with her protege Deepika Padukone. It is no secret that Deepika made her Bollywood debut with Farah's 2007 film Om Shanti Om. According to a report on a portal, Farah is keen to work with Deepika once again, and reportedly, the makers have approached the actress for the action comedy.

A source told the portal that story apparently has a strong female character, and Farah thinks that Deepika fits the bill. "Once things would be finalised, official announcements would be made," the source revealed.

Farah Khan has collaborated with Rohit Shetty for 'mother of all entertainers'. The 54-year-old filmmaker took to social media to make the big announcement. She posted a picture with Rohit and wrote, "Sometimes the universe just conspires to give you what you didn't even imagine. Together with Rohit, who I genuinely love as a brother and whose work ethic I respect and share, I can only promise 'Mother of all Entertainers'! Can't wait to say 'roll camera' for this one."

In fact, Farah has become the first female director to helm a film under Rohit Shetty Picturez.

Deepika, who is currently busy prepping up for her next Chappak with Meghna Gulzar, worked with Farah in her 2014 film Happy New Year.

Deepika in an interview to India Today Television had said that Om Shanti Om changed her life, and she owes her Bollywood career to Farah Khan. "Om Shanti Om put me on the map. It changed my life overnight. When I left Mumbai for the world premiere, people viewed me very differently. The minute I landed at immigration, I realised my life had changed."

"Farah making Om Shanti Om at that time, wanting to cast a newcomer at that time. She could have chosen to cast an established actress but she chose to go with a newcomer. She came across the ad I had done and decided that I was perfect for the role. She didn't know who I was. She purely saw me in these couples of ad campaigns, took it Shah Rukh who was willing to take that risk," she added.
