South African all-rounder Chris Morris has said that he hasn’t had discussions with any person from Cricket South Africa (CSA) regarding his international comeback. Chris Morris had last represented the country as a replacement for injured Anrich Nortje in the Cricket World Cup 2019 two years back and the 33-year-old hasn’t been in any contention for a spot despite veterans like Dale Steyn have retired.

Chris Morris has played in 42 One day internationals,23 T20s, and 4 tests in the South African colours taking 48, 34, and 12 wickets respectively. The tall right-arm fast bowler came into the scene with his pace and know for clinical striking with the bat. He has hit three half-centuries with the bat in international cricket coming down the order and he can nail the yorkers in the death overs.

Chris Morris Sent To Play Leagues Around The World

Chris Morris said that his former coach Ottis Gibson had allowed him to play leagues around the world and to follow what might be best for him. Morris added that he wasn’t the right one to replace a great like Jacques Kallis and their last conversation with his former coach was to move on. When asked if he will play for South Africa again, the all-rounder sounded unsure.

“My last conversation was just before the World Cup with (former national coach) Ottis (Gibson); that’s where the decision was made for me to go and play leagues around the world and to follow what I feel is best for me as a cricketer and best for me in my career.

“Since the king (Jacques Kallis) retired. It’s a difficult position to fill; the conversation then was that I am going to move on, and that was the end of it. That was a while ago, the last time I had a conversation about that.

“That’s a difficult question. I will have to have that conversation when it happens,” Chris Morris said.

Chris Morris Suprised To Get Huge Money In The Auction

Morris told that he was surprised for bagging a whopping 16.25 crores in the auction by Rajasthan Royals and he did not expect it coming. Morris became the most expensive player in the history of the IPL Auction and was pleased to be playing in the IPL again. He was released by RCB last year despite having done decently.

“That came as a very big surprise. I was never expecting it. I had a conversation with (Knights coach) Allan Donald the day before, and I said to him I’m just happy to get a gig. I just want to be playing,” the 33-year-old said.
