Junoon raises seed round from angel investors * Junoon, a vocational training and jobs search platform for blue collared workers, has raised seed funding from investors led by Kunal Khattar (AdvantEdge founding partner) and Viren Rana, CEO of Renovite Technologies.
The startup was launched in April this year by 17-year old Ahaan Aggarwal, the son of Droom founder and CEO Sandeep Aggarwal.
Sandeep also participated in this round - details of which have not been disclosed - along with Chaim Freidman and Vishesh Tandon.
Junoon has been developed to provide rich training and upskilling programs to workers in over 20 categories (like auto mechanics, auto drivers, painters, plumbers, warehouse keepers and security guards) as well as support them in finding a sustainable livelihood as per their improved proficiency.
**** Jade Forest raises $250,000 seed investment * Delhi-based premium beverage and mixers brand, Jade Forest on Tuesday said it has raised USD 250,000 (about Rs 1.85 crore) in seed funding from prominent angels across India.
The company has recently raised investment from marquee investors like Gaurav Kapur, Rohan Abbas, Ashish Tulsian, and Angel List India among others, a statement said.
With the current fundraise, Jade Forest plans to build a robust e-commerce presence, enter newergeographies with a selection of products across novel product lines, it added.
Accelerated by Gurugram-based Huddle, Jade Forest is growing at 20 per cent month-on-month and all its products are manufactured at a USFDA certified facility, it said.
**** CityMall raises $3mn led by Elevation Capital *Citymall, a social e-commerce venture, on Tuesday said it has raised USD 3 million (about Rs 22.2 crore) in funding, led by Elevation Capital (formerly called SAIF Partners).
The seed funding round also saw participation from Waterbridge ventures, Arun Tadanki's private syndicate on LetsVenture, a statement said.
The proceeds of this fresh funding will be utilised to build a robust network of CityMall 'Community Leaders' and expand its supply chain tailored for smaller tier III and IV cities in India, apart from building a core team, it added.
