BSNL offers new recharge plans for IPL 2019 fans, offers cricket score caller tunes from Rs 199

The new BSNL IPL special recharge packs come with data and call benefits. Subscribers can set cricket match scores during an ongoing match as their caller tune.

The IPL season is underway and various DTH operators have been offering special channel bouquets for cricket fans. BSNL has also been offering benefits to its customers for conveniences during the IPL season. The telecom operator rolled out a few recharge packs a few weeks ago that offered data benefits and free score alerts by SMS. Now, BSNL has come up with two new recharge packs that offer novel features for true cricket fans.

BSNL has announced on its Twitter handle about the two new recharge packs for IPL fans during this year's IPL season. The first recharge pack costs Rs 199 and offers a validity of 28 days. With this plan, subscribers will be entitled to unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 100 SMSes per day. The plan also offers 1GB of data per day for the entire period of its validity.

The second plan costs Rs 499 and comes with an increased validity of 90 days, which is almost close to three months. However, the other benefits remain the same - 1GB of data per day, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and 100 SMSes per day.

Both the plans also offer something that hasn't been seen before. With these IPL special plans, BSNL is offering customers to set cricket score caller tunes. Instead of the regular dialer tone, callers will able to get the live score update of the IPL match ongoing. However, the cricket score caller tune will only be active when a cricket match is underway. When the cricket match isn't underway, subscribers will get unlimited access to premium caller tunes.

BSNL is maintaining a data limit of 1GB per day on all of its latest STV recharges. In comparison, private operators such as Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone are offering more data per day. Reliance Jio also gives complimentary access to its Jio Apps while Vodafone offers free access to its Vodafone Play services.

With these special recharges and services, BSNL is coming up as one of the biggest telecom operators. BSL was the second operator in January 2019 to see growth in additional subscribers after Reliance Jio. BSNL is also coming up with the faster 4G VoLTE network in select circles and is already data benefits to those who upgrade from a 3G SIM to a 4G SIM card.
