BJP National Council meeting: Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah today made clear the party’s intent on the issue of Ram Mandir and said that BJP wanted the temple to be constructed in Ayodhya at the earliest. Hitting out at the Congress, the BJP chief said that the grand old party was creating obstacles in early resolution of the matter in Supreme Court. Addressing party workers at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on in his inaugural address the opening day of the National Council meeting, Shah also trained guns at the Opposition and said rival parties were ganging up together to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Asserting that the 2019 Lok Sabha elections would be Modi vs All, Shah said that the PM was unbeatable and the BJP will end up increasing its tally in the Lok Sabha in the coming elections.
Exhorting party workers to get to work at the booth level to ensure the return of BJP in the 2019 elections, Amit Shah also listed out the achievements of the Modi government. Shah said the central government under PM Modi fulfilled the dreams of crores of youths by providing 10 per cent reservation following the constitutional amendment. Shah also invoked surgical strikes and the GST Council’s decision to double the limit for exemption from payment of GST to Rs 40 lakh to underline the measures taken up by the government.
