·1-min read

Union Berlin will be welcoming Bayer Leverkusen for the Bundesliga fixture on Saturday at 1:00 AM IST. The hosts have acquired the fifth position with 25 points while visitors have occupied the third spot with 29 points.

Union Berlin played 15 matches out of which they won six games, lost two and had a draw on seven occasions while Bayer Leverkusen also had 15 games, they were victorious on eight occasions, lost twice and drew five games.

Bayer Leverkusen will be aiming to finish the series of defeats in the last three games and move closer to the table-toppers Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga standings.

On the other hand, Union Berlin will want to continue their five-match unbeaten streak in the upcoming games.

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Bayer Leverkusen has a clear advantage as they have beaten Union Berlin in their last five matches. The two teams played against each other for the first time, last season and Leverkusen beat them in both the matches. The kind of form Union Berlin has been throughout the season, there might be a chance of Berlin coming out victorious in their upcoming fixture.

Union has some of their key players out of the upcoming game due to an injury. Max Kruse and Anthony Ujah’s absence haven’t affected the team much as they have performed well on the break. Christian Gentner is unlikely to start as he hasn’t gained full match-fitness.

Santiago Arias and Seven Bender have been sidelined while Paulinho is recovering from his cruciate ligament rupture. Karim Bellarabi and Mithcell Weiser are recovering from their respective injuries.
