Now that the government has given us some good news that international travel could start as early as 17th May, we can get excited about holidays again.

With summer staycations selling out fast, we've set our sights on a late season escape and are looking to September when we can return to Europe for a relaxing cruise from Portugal to Spain.

This year, an exciting cruise ship is hitting the seas - the world's largest square-rigged sailing ship, Tradewind Voyages' Golden Horizon - and Prima is celebrating holidays resuming after lockdown by offering you the chance to experience it for yourself, with our exclusive voyage to southern Europe.

Departing in early September, the eight-day cruise takes in some of the continent's best cities and islands – from colourful Lisbon to the laidback Balearics - as you travel from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, stopping in Morocco for a day.

Sailing on Golden Horizon, you’ll be living the high life with a gorgeous spa, beauty salon, five stylish bars, three pools, and beautifully designed cabins, which all have stunning ocean views.

Plus, your trip is 100% protected, so if government guidance changes and it means you can’t travel, you can choose another Tradewind Voyages cruise or simply get your money back.

The spacious sailing ship is eco-friendly, running 70% on nature, and it doesn’t scrimp on elegance. You can spend the evenings sipping cocktails and enjoying singalongs in the piano bar, or stretched out on the sundeck.

When it comes to dining, you can tuck into delicious Mediterranean dishes in the spectacular two-floor dining room – with wine and beer included at lunch and dinner, too!

Setting sail from Lisbon, Portugal's wonderful capital, your first stop is Cádiz in Spain, famous for its quaint and quirky tapas and sherry bars. Here, you can head to the top of the Torre Tavira for some great views over the city.

From there, it's on to Tangier in Morocco, with a stop in its vibrant hillside medina and a visit to the mysterious Hercules Caves, before you head to Almería, one of Andalusia's loveliest towns, which boasts unspoilt beaches and the Alcazaba, an ornate Moorish fort overlooking the city.

Finally, you'll set sail for the paradise islands of the Balearics, to explore Mahón in scenic Menorca and visit picturesque Majorca to explore the capital Palma.

There are so many optional excursions to try along the way too, making your trip even more special.

Foodies will love the chance to take a tapas-making workshop in Cadiz, or head out on a tasty tour of Tangier, including shopping for spices in the medina and a chance to sample traditional Moroccan dishes.

Or if you fancy something a little more active, you can see a local Flamenco performance in Cadiz and learn how to click, stamp, and dance the traditional way, or trot around Menorca on horseback.

You'll wave goodbye to Golden Horizon in Palma de Mallorca, where white sandy beaches and buzzing bars beckon. You might wish to extend your time here by treating yourself to a post-cruise stay at the four-star Hotel Bonsol, with its sub-tropical gardens that lead right down to the beach.
