Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 goes on first sale in India: Price, specs and all you need to know
After making it official a few days ago, Asus will be going live with their first sale for the ZenFone Max Pro M2. The sale will commence from 12 pm on Flipkart and will be offered alongside a slew of offers with various partners. All the three variants - the one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, the middle variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, will go on sale today.
Consumers can avail a host of special discounts on the ZenFone Max Pro M2 in today's sale. HDFC Bank customers can get a discount of Rs 1,000 on both HDFC debit and credit cards. The discount also applies to HDFC customers who opt for EMI transactions. Apart from that, Flipkart is also offering a no-cost EMI on all bank cards for the period of 3 or 6 months. Additionally, Flipkart will also offer the Complete Mobile Protection for Rs 99 with the ZenFone Max Pro M2.
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 specifications
The ZenFone Max Pro M2 sports a big 6.28-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display sports a notch on top that houses the front camera, an earpiece and an LED flash. The smartphone ditches the metal body from its predecessor and adopts a new glossy plastic rear panel that resembles the glass finish from Asus' flagship ZenFone 5z. The smartphone still offers a micro USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack as its predecessor.
The ZenFone Max Pro M2 is underpinned by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with an Adreno 512 GPU. Users can spec their ZenFone Max Pro M2 with a choice of 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage. The smartphone runs on a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo and Asus will roll out the Android 9 Pie update to the handset in January 2019. The stock Android interface only comes preloaded with the Facebook, Instagram and a few Asus apps.
As for the optics, The ZenFone Max Pro M2 offers a 12-megapixel primary sensor paired with an F1.8 lens. The second camera uses a 5-megapixel sensor for capturing depth information. For the front, there's a 13-megapixel camera with an F2.0 lens. The front camera is accompanied by an LED flash for assisting with selfies in low light scenarios.
The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is kept alive by a big 5000mAh battery that also supports up to 10W fast charging via the micro USB port. The micro USB port also supports USB OTG functionality. Additionally, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 also comes built in with Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS and support for FM radio.
As for the prices, the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage costs Rs 12,999 while the middle variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage goes for Rs 14,999. The top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage will go on sale today for Rs 16,999.
