Amazon launches Echo Show smart speaker in India for Rs 22,999

As a part of the launch offer, the customers who buy the Echo Show smart speaker via Amazon India's e-retail platform or retail stores can get a Philips Hue bulb at no additional cost.

Amazon India on Tuesday, April 2 launched the Amazon Echo Show smart speaker in India for Rs 22,999. The Amazon Echo Show joins the company's Echo Show range of smart speakers and smart home devices, including the Amazon Echo Input, Amazon Echo Dot (2018) and the Amazon Echo Plus (2018), that were introduced by the company at a special event last year.

The Seattle headquartered company is offering interesting launch offers on the purchase of the Amazon Echo Show smart speaker. For starters, customers who buy the Echo Show smart speaker via Amazon India's e-retail platform or a retail store can get a Philips Hue bulb at no additional cost. Additionally, Citibank debit and credit cards owners can get Rs 2,000 flat off on the purchase of the device. Apart from this, customers can also buy the Amazon Echo Show smart speaker via a no-cost EMI worth Rs 1,917 per month.

Today, we're making this voice-first experience better by introducing Echo Show which provides an enhanced audio-visual experience. The large screen size will increase utility and make it even easier to ask Alexa to show you things, no matter where you are in the room. And the room filling sound will make watching a music video, catching up on your favorite shows or listening to your favorite playlist more enjoyable," Parag Gupta, Head of Amazon Devices India said in a statement.

As far as the features are concerned, the newly launched Amazon Echo Show smart speaker features a 10-inch HD display that can not only be used to watch videos using Amazon Prime Video and photos from Facebook but users can also customise skills such as news briefing from Aaj Tak and recipes from Sanjeev Kapoor to make use of the speaker's large screen.

The Echo Show comes with an eight-microphone array and the company's far-field technology, which enables the speaker to differentiate user's voice from ambient sound effectively. Additionally, the Echo Show features dual, side-firing 2-inch Neodymium drivers, a passive bass radiator, and Dolby processing, which according to company allows it to deliver sound that is ideal for listening to music.

The Echo Show comes with a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, which can be used by the users to control all their smart home device. It also comes with a built-in 5MP front-facing camera that supports HD video calling and can be used to video friends and family who have an Echo Spot, Echo Show or the Alexa App. Alternatively, users can also use Skype voice for video calling.

The Amazon Echo Show would be available on Amazon India's e-retail platform and retail stores starting today.
