Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to former Union Minister Arun Jaitley while addressing the Indian community in Bahrain and said that he lost one of his friends when he was so away from him. PM Modi also remembered former EAM Sushma Swaraj who died of cardiac arrest on August 6.

Addressing the Indian community in Bahrain, PM Modi said, "I cannot think that I am here in Bahrain and my dear friend Arun Jaitley is no more. Some days ago, we lost our former Defence Minister Behen Sushma Ji. Today my friend Arun left. He was a friend who stayed at every step."

"I pay tribute to my friend Arun Jaitley from the land of Bahrain," he said. PM Modi also appreciated the role of the Indian community in the economic development of Bahrain and for keeping the Indian flag flying high.

PM Modi also wished the Indian community on the occasion of Janmashtami and said that he would be visiting the Shrinathji temple in Manama on Sunday and will pray for peace and prosperity in Bahrain.

"It is also a matter of happiness that renovation of this temple will also officially begin tomorrow," he said.

Will make India $5 trillion economy: PM Modi

PM Modi also said that in the next five years, the government will multiply the size of India's economy by two times. He added that the government is working hard to achieve this aim. "India has decided that we will multiply the size of our economy by twice in the upcoming 5 years. 5 trillion dollars economy in the target in front of us," he said.

He also said that the government is working to improve infrastructure. "Digital infrastructure is expanding in India. India's digital transaction model has been recognised globally. UPI and Bhim App facilities have helped poor in the country," PM Modi said.

"Poor have social security in India, nearly 50 crore people in India have medical insurance, everyone Indian now believes their dreams can come true. Many policies improved ease of doing business in India," PM Modi said.

Our goals are high because 130 crore Indians supported us: PM Modi

PM Modi said that the goals of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in India have the support of 130 crore Indians and hence "our goals are high".

"When you talk to your family members in India, they tell you they feel a change in the environment. Do you feel a change in India? Do you see a change in the attitude of India? Confidence of India has increased or not?" he said.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the RuPay card In Abu Dhabi, making the UAE the first country in the Middle East to initiate the Indian indigenous system of electronic payment.

Mentioning it, PM Modi said that Rupay card will soon be launched in Bahrain which, he said, would help in cashless transactions in the country. "Rupay card will give seamless connectivity," he said.

PM Modi hailed the ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 launch and said that it was possible only because of self-determination.

"All of you know that on September 7, India's 'Chandrayaan' is going to land on the surface of the moon. The entire world is discussing India's space missions today. The world is astonished that how are we able to gain these results in such a small budget, using only our skills," PM Modi said.
